Fitzroy Falls, Manning Lookout, Kangaroo Valley and Tallowa Dam
Some days I wake up and planning where we are going to explore just doesn’t work for my brain or my soul. This morning started with frustration because I knew I wanted to go somewhere, but couldn’t decide so I was just getting even more frustrated lol! Lucky for me, Mick is the more patient one of the two so he made the decision to head South and see what happens.
Stop #1.. Woolies to buy a salad bowl for lunch, very exciting.
Stop #2.. Coffee and Hot Chocolate obviously. Our adventures don’t start unless Mick has had enough caffeine.
Stop #3.. Fitzroy Falls. We had to pass the falls to get to Manning Lookout so we stopped in for a quick look. We have been here many times before but it’s a beautiful location so worth a visit if you are in the area.
Stop #3.. Manning Lookout. This is an incredible little lookout with sweeping views of Kangaroo Valley and the escarpments that form the valley. If you continue along this walking track you will be rewarded with an AMAZING waterfall, a rejuvinating stroll through some rainforest vibes, and finally at the end, a swimming hole with a waterfall that goes over the edge of the escarpment. For the sake of your safety, please stay away from the edge here. It was getting really hot so we headed back to the car for some water and to eat our salad bowls in the back of the Troopy. Living the dream, honestly.
Stops #4 & 5.. Off we went down to Kangaroo Valley and Tallowa Dam. Both are pretty special places. We were greeted by a Lace Monitor and a family of Wallaroos at the Dam. You are allowed to swim, fish, kayak/canoe in certain parts of Tallowa Dam and there was definitely people taking advantage of that on this hot day! We opted for a walk down to the river and then back up to have a bit of an afternoon picnic.
As always, I will leave you with some photos from our adventure.
